WITCH MARK COLLECTION

Witch Marks are marks etched into stone, wood and plaster to protect homes and their inhabitants from evil spirits. Evidence of Witch Marks date from the 16th Century and are typically found by windows, doorways and especially around the hearth of historical homes in England. It was thought that evil spirits or spells could enter a home through these openings and that these protective marks, also known as apotropaic marks, would help trap the evil spirits. There are many different types and examples of Witch Marks, but some of the most common are Hexafoils, also known as Daisy Wheels, overlapping circles and concentric circles, and Marian Marks which consist of overlapping V’s and M’s, representing the Virgin Mary.

Witch Bottle Pendant

Following the history of Witch Bottles, we made our pendant out of porcelain first. Handmade by ceramic artist AD Lenhardt, we chose our favorite tiny, porcelain bottle and then sent it to our jeweler to be cast in solid 14k gold. The finishing touch was to cap the bottle with a protective opal cabochon, to hold the negative energy inside.

Witch Mark Lockets

Wear our Witch Mark lockets as a talisman for good luck and protection. Place an image of a loved one inside, or use it as a tiny vessel for protective herbs or scents. Write a meaningful affirmation and tuck it inside for some extra good luck.

Gemstone Charm Holder Necklace

We created a necklace to hold all of your beloved talismans. Made with protective gemstones, add your own charms to make a piece truly personal and unique to you.
