My Word For 2023…

My word for 2023 is ✨REFLECTION✨ I spent a good deal of this year reflecting on why I started T&B in the first place and what my purpose for this business moving forward was. When you are in the act of running a small business, there isn’t a lot of time to slow down and reflect. It’s always go, go, go. On to the next. This year I decided to invest some time in slowing down to reflect, recenter and reenergize in order to move forward with a clear vision for what I want for this business and for myself as well. I was feeling stuck and uninspired, especially with the endless dread on the news every day. This little shop has come so far since the early days at my kitchen table in Brooklyn. It feels great to recognize and celebrate that growth, but also important to reconnect with why I decided to start T&B in the first place. The thing I kept coming back to was JOY. I opened T&B in 2015 with the goal of curating a beautiful and thoughtful collection of handmade goods in a welcoming and joyful space, where people could connect with others and be inspired to incorporate beauty and meaning into their everyday lives. My goal with this little shop is to uplift and delight the people who walk in our door. And though it can feel trivial sometimes, those small moments of joy are so, so important. Especially right now when the world is filled with so many unbearably awful things. So I would like to wish you all a new year filled with joy in the little moments, along with some time to slow down and reflect. I know that after reconnecting to why I started this journey in the first place I am feeling freshly inspired and excited about what the new year holds for T&B 🌹 Thank you for your support of my little business. It means the world to me.
